Rick Reynolds has been a passionate educator and developer of educational resources for over 25 years. The author or co-author of 20 books and curriculum guides, including Marco the Molecule and The EverGreen Twins Activity Book, he has developed a variety of resources and provided consulting for organizations such as the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, the Bureau of Land Management (BLM)PBS Education, the National Park Service / The River Mile, SOLVEOregon Nikkei EndowmentClackamas County Vector Control, and One More Generation.

While most of his professional life is now spent developing lesson plans aligned to the Next Generation Science Standards and Common Core State Standards, multimedia content, websites, and e-learning resources, Rick has taught nearly every grade and subject, preK-12. This includes high school social studies, science, and technology for five years, technology education and all K-6 subjects for 3.5 years, hands-on K-6 science programs for a year, and all middle school subjects for a year.

Rick has been an informal environmental educator and trainer of teachers in science, technology, and social studies education for the last 12 years. He also served as an education development manager for a leading educational software company for 2+ years. He is a licensed educator in Oregon and Connecticut with these endorsements: Elementary, Middle Level, Social Studies, Technology Education, and Administrator. He holds a M.S. in Education from the University of New Haven, an Administrator’s Certificate from the University of Portland, and a B.A. in Geography (Honors Scholar) from the University of Connecticut, in additional to dozens of additional graduate credits in science and environmental education, technology, and education.

In addition to helping educators and young people, Rick loves exploring the outdoors, gardening, tennis, community service, and spending time with friends and family, especially his lovely wife, Krista, and sweet kitten, Pepper. A Connecticut native, he feels fortunate to have lived in beautiful Oregon since 2001.
